Michael Molitor is the Executive Chef of Ecliptic Brewing in Portland, Oregon. A native of the Northwest, Michael began cooking in and around Boise, Idaho in his late teens. It was at a humble Italian restaurant in the mid ‘90s that Michael realized that restaurants were in his blood. He spent the next few years at Desert Sage in Boise, quickly assuming the role of Sous Chef. Michael relocated to Phoenix in 2001 to attend Scottsdale Culinary Institute, but longed to return to the Northwest. After graduating, he moved to Portland and secured a position at the Heathman Restaurant. He spent the following 9 years as Executive Sous Chef at another Portland landmark, Pazzo Ristorante. Michael currently lives in North Portland with his wife Greta (who was a server at that humble Italian restaurant many years ago), his daughter Ava, son Augie, and giant schnoodle Phoebe. When he is not at the restaurant, he enjoys cooking at home, working in his backyard garden, and trying not to humiliate himself on a golf course.
